Top Five places to visit in Kashmir if you are a first time visitor

Kashmir is somewhat like a real jannat or heaven in earth created by god specially to feel heaven with open eyes. Its a source of inspiration for me, not because it gives me a purpose of life ‘travelling’ but because its the place that creates charismatic effect in everyone’s heart who is experiencing this beauty surrounded with snow lad Himalayan Ranges, luscious evergreen trees, waterfalls, lakes and tempting and alluring infinite forest meadows. Kashmir is a place not to be just embraced, but to be get out and experience it in hand. So for the first time visitors, who won’t be able to reach its inner core, but want to experience its extreme beauty, I strongly recommend the following five places to visit :

1. Pahalgam

Pahalgam ,also known as meadow of shepherds, situated at the confluence of the streams of Sheshnag lake & Lidder river is best known for its steep valleys , evergreen pine trees covering the entire valley  and its 18 hole golf course ,fishing in river Lidder and the most famous ,its horse riding. It is also popular as an starting point for Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra  in rainy season. It just has innumerable experiences to count upon.

2. Gulmarg

Gulmarg , Meadow of Flowers , is a place holding its scenic beauty where the temperature lies below 20o C even in summer having some of the breathtaking views which can be enjoyed either by Gondola ride or pony ride or trekking too. I will strongly recommend for either trekking or pony ride to experience the beauty of waterfalls, flowering meadows here at its full go from its closest end, only if you are extremely fit and healthy. It’s a place most appreciable for doing skiing too .

3. Sonamarg

Sonamarg , Meadow of gold is a popular destination in Kashmir and easily recognizable by film goers as many of its amazing views have been shot in various popular bollywood films . It is known for its Thajwas Glacier and zero point (where the snow is present all around the year) and can be easily trekked or accessible by the pony ride.

4. Srinagar

Srinagar the Capital of Kashmir in Summer season , is located on the banks of Jhelum river and is surrounded by river Jhelum all over . It is best known for its gardens , lakes and houseboats . The beautiful natural gardens like Shalimar Bagh , Chashme Shahi , Botanical Garden, ideal spots for picnic with family or spending the quality time with your beloved ones . The popular Pari Mahal , the Ideal location for viewing the entire mesmerizing view of Dal Lake from its any floors . The famous Shankaracharya temple , where Adi Guru Shankaracharya perform its penace is also located here and is a must visit place . Srinagar is just a shopping paradise for shopaholics and a centre point of reaching out to all the places I stated above.

The enormous, the versatile or the mobile world, some of the best phrases to describe beauty of Dal lake , best known for its Shikara ride . It is hotspot destination in Kashmir not to be missed out . The mobile eateries , mobile Photo studios, mobile shopping sellers all let you think for once that you are staying all together in a different world.

Surely , for the first time visitors , these five places must be on their top list when visiting Kashmir.
